In deze El Mundo editie zet ik de spots op de in 2021 helaas overleden Italiaanse zanger, gitarist liedjesschrijver en filmmaker Franco Battiato! Franco woonde in Milaan en Sicilië. Hij maakte zowel progressieve rock als klassieke muziek. Franco speelde synthesizer, keyboards, gitaar en piano. Hij onderbrak zijn universitaire studie en koos voor een muzikale carrière. In 1984 deed hij mee aan het Eurovisie -songfestival met het prachtige nummer “I treni di Tozeur”! Uiteindelijk bracht hij totaal zevenenveertig albums uit.
In this El Mundo edition, I turn the spotlight on Italian singer, guitarist songwriter and filmmaker Franco Battiato, who sadly passed away in 2021! Franco lived in Milan and Sicily. He made both progressive rock and classical music. Franco played synthesizer, keyboards, guitar and piano. He interrupted his university studies and chose a musical career. In 1984, he entered the Eurovision Song Contest with the beautiful song “I treni di Tozeur”! He eventually released a total of forty-seven albums.
